Congratulations on finding your way here!! Let's tell you a
little bit about us and what we do...
Invading the Pit is a shiny new blog dedicated to all things
Rock and Metal, brought to you by two self-confessed and proud metal-heads.
Our aim is to provide unique insights into the world of a music fan from a
certain perspective.
We're girls doing it for girls... (although you metal dudes
are welcome too, brah!)
We were drawn together by a mutual love of a band – a love
that has been described as an obsession by some. This sparked the idea between
us for a blog mainly centring on the world of a female metal fan. The passion,
the dedication and commitment these fans show, the stigma that comes along with
that, as well as a look at the lifelong friendships that are forged among fans
that come together with a common interest in a band.
We'll also be bringing you reviews, experiences from other
people and some interviews.
So without further ado let's meet the team:
Leese:
Leese grew up on boy bands, The Spice Girls and Aaron Carter
until she was introduced to decent music, through the love (and obsession) she
had for professional wrestling at the time, around age 13. Since falling in
love with heavy metal and hard rock music, she has travelled extensively to see
her favourite bands, going as far afield as The United States of America...
five times! Another hobby of hers is decorating her body with band-related
tattoos to show off and permanently display her passion and affection to the
musicians that she loves. Some call her obsessed and insane, while others
describe her as "dedicatedly crazy". A "mature" (and we use
that term loosely) student of Music Industries Management, it was the experience
of combining traveling with music that led her to pursue a career within the
industry.
Joobs:
Inducted into the world of metal a little later in life than
the average metal-head, Joobs has developed a love for heavy metal, moshing and...
baking?! "It's like I've fallen out of the WI and into a mosh pit!"
The self-described middle-aged rocker stands out from the crowd - well her
voice and distinctive laugh certainly do - and she certainly epitomises the
phrase "once seen (or heard) never forgotten", although we are still
trying to decide whether or not that is a good thing.
Now that you know a little bit about us, we hope you stick
along for the ride and by all means, if there is a topic you want covered, an
interview you must read, an event or album you need reviewed or you just want
to give us some feedback please do contact us! We're very approachable, we
promise!
